This is still my new toy, I'm having fun with it and it does what it's supposed to do. Remember that everything goes on behind the computer, including the on/off button and the DVD and card reader slots are at the side, so the imac needs to be within arms reach. If you use a few external devices you may need to buy a USB/Firewire hub but this still doesn't make the overall price out of the way. I require a big screen because I have to view several windows at the same time, otherwise I would say that the 21" version would be ample for most applications. Fast, more than enough power for me, and space created by not having a tower. Thinking laterally, I don't need a battle ship to sink a yacht and I'm getting pushed for space. What to replace it with? A mac pro would be the obvious choice but a lot of money to find out of an already empty pocket. But with the advent of duel core/quad core processors Apple, true to form, have rendered my G5 obsolete, so no more system upgrades therefore no more downloads. I had a G5 power mac and used it mainly for music production, so it was loaded up with hard drives and memory etc, and it suited me fine. I was more or less forced into the situation of buying a new computer.
